People from all over the world have heard about Idaho's Northwest Passage (formerly Clearwater Canyons Scenic Byway) - A region of history, wilderness, serenity, and pristine rivers. US Highway 12 from Lewiston, Idaho to Missoula, Montana follows much the same route Lewis and Clark followed and has been designated as an All American Road. The area is as primitive and the landscape much the same as it was in 1805 when Lewis and Clark traveled it.

Visitors traveling this portion of the trail will want to spend a few days in the area, taking time to experience the educational history as well as the other beauties and attractions available here.
The Scenic Byway, along Highway 12 from Lewiston to Missoula and State Highway 13 from Kooskia to Grangeville, are among the most desirous vacation spots in the country.
